Sara McNicoll - Embry Riddle University - Lacrosse - November 8, 2017

"I am playing division 2 lacrosse at Embry - Riddle Aeronautical University next year. The campus I am attending is in Daytona Beach, Florida, and I am planning on majoring in Homeland Security and minoring in Cybersecurity. There are many reasons I chose this school. One reason is because of how unique the fields of studies are and the location. I have played multiple sports my whole life, but all of them have led me to my love of lacrosse. I would like to thank my family for always supporting me and believing in me, especially my dad. I would also like to thank my high school coaches, Ms. Setter, and club lacrosse coach Katie Sperides. In addition, I would like to thank my future coaches, Coach G, and Coach Ely for giving me this opportunity."..More Information

McKenna Melville - University of Central Florida - Volleyball - November 8, 2017

"I am going to University of Central Florida. When I walked on campus I knew it was the place I wanted to continue my athletic and academic career.  I instantly fell in love with the warm climate and the coaches at UCF.  Volleyball has been a part of my life every since I was born, I grew up in the Eagan Gym.  Volleyball helped me meet some of my best friends and grow up with people who love the same game I do.  Without the game I would not be the person I am today. A huge part of loving volleyball comes with the endless amount of support I get from my coaches, teammates and mostly my family. Thank you for helping me do what I love to do."..More Information

Ally Murphy - North Dakota State University - Volleyball - November 8, 2017

"I will be attending North Dakota State University in the fall of 2018. I decided on NDSU because I fell in love with the campus and the how it feels like a larger school but is a smaller campus. I also really like the girls on the team and the head coach Jenifer Lopez. Academically I chose the school because they have a good Elementary Education program. I would really like to thank my parents for all the support throughout the years. I would also like to thank Kathy Gillen and my teammates. They have helped to push me and make me a better player on and off the court. I would like to thank them them for helping me reach my goal of playing the sport I love in college."..More Information

Emily Tran - Saint Edwards University - Volleyball - November 8, 2017

Natalie Windels - University of Minnesota - Track & Field - November 8, 2017

"First, I’d like to thank Chris Dallagher for getting me interested in the multi events. He suggested that I try the pentathlon in 2011 and I ended up going to my first junior olympics in Kansas that year. The Olympic triple jumper Shani Marks-Johnson, made long jump click for me because I was jumping 14ft before and then 17ft after working with her. I have worked with her since 4th grade with summer track and have been going to her winter camps at the U of M since 7th grade. Another coach from my earlier years was James Pipkins who was my REAL track and field team coach during the summer. He specifically worked with me on my starts which improved my times. My other coach from my REAL track and field team is Derrick Mora. He has been at every meet (even the Junior Olympics) and has helped refine my hurdle technique. Next, I’d like to give a big shoutout to my high school coach Robin Graham for realizing that my flexibility and versatility could be useful for the team if I ran the hurdles. I’ve grown very close to Graham since 7the grade and I’ll miss the summer days where we worked out at 10am and connected over our love of track. In the physical therapy area, I’ve depended on Dr. Luke Jakubowski for fixing my shin splints initially and later teaching me to control my range of motion and body position. I couldn’t have survived high school season without the witty banter between us and the endless amounts of KT tape he put on me. The newest addition to my coaching staff, Nate Stemper, has introduced to me to weightlifting which has improved my overall strength and made me run faster. Both Nate and Luke were huge contributors to my success in winning state in the 300m hurdles in 2017. I always appreciate my siblings coming to my meets and cheering me on, and I especially listen for my sister’s loud voice as I’m running. Lastly, I owe it all to my parents for putting me in EAA track in kindergarten and starting me in club track in 3rd grade. This opened the door to the many opportunities that I have gotten today including; training at several places to further my athletic development and being a 6-time All-American at the Junior Olympics. They are my true supporters because they come to every meet, rain or shine, and are proud of me no matter what my performance was."

Pat Acton - Michigan Technological University - Nordic Ski - April 12, 2017

"Next year, I will be attending Michigan Technological University as a student and member of the varsity cross country ski team. Athletically, I decided on MTU because of their highly competitive ski program, world class facilities and open team dynamic. Academically, I chose Michigan Tech because of their phenomenal record in the sciences, and vast number of undergraduate research opportunities. I joined the ISD 196 Nordic Ski Team in 7th grade and fell in love with the sport as a result. I love skiing because of the freedom

Joleen Werden - Bemiji State University - Golf - April 12, 2017

"I will be attending Bemidji State University in the fall of 2017. I selected BSU because I really liked the area the school is located in and the campus being directly on a lake.   I also really like the golf coach, Eric Carlson, and the girls on the team. Eric made me feel very welcomed on my visits to Bemidji.  I like how this school is a smaller state school but the sports are all D1 and D2 and very competitive. I would like to thank my parents Joe and Terri, my sister Shelbie and all my friends for coming to all my golf matches and supporting me.  I would also like to thank all my coaches especially Nathan Dunn and Joe Joran for always supporting me in my goals.  I am very excited about my future at BSU."
