Spring Musical - "Anything Goes"

by Cole Porter
Directed by Josh Campbell

"Anything Goes"
is one of America's favorite musicals.  It is a classic boy-meets-girl and many complications ensue as passengers and crew of an ocean liner travel on the high seas.  The music of Cole Porter is featured in the chow - including De-Lovely, Friendship, I get a Kick Out of You, You're the Top, Let's Misbehave and Anything Goes.  Broadway audiences loved the show when it was restaged and revived in New York in 2011, winning the Tony Award for Best Revival of a Musical, Best Lead Acresss (Sutton Foster) and Best Choreography.
A romantic comedy, the plot involves an evangelist singer, turned nightclub performer, Reno Sweeny and her Angels traveling to Europe.  An old 'flame' Billy Crocker comes on board to deliver his Wall Street Banker boss's passport.  Billy confesses to Reno his heart belongs to Hope Harcourt, who happens to be traveling with her financé to Europe.  Billy stays onboard to try and change Hope's decision.  Since he is a stowaway, he must disguise himself, even as one of the sailors, for the voyage.  Comedy and romance ensue - with many terrific dance numbers and songs.
