What is Science Olympiad?

The Science Olympiad is a competitive event involving about 50 high schools in Minnesota, including most of the South Suburban Conference. Each school assembles a team of about 15 students, who then compete in events taken from the areas of earth science, biology, chemistry and physics. Most events are hands-on in format, and involve 2 person teams from each school. Membership is open to all grade levels and academic backgrounds - in many cases, students who are not necessarily standouts in the classroom have done superlative jobs as science olympians.
