Welcome to Ms. Corbett's Homepage!

Hello students and parents! My name is Ms. Lissi Corbett. I am very excited to get to know each of you.

Currently registered students and parents can log in to Schoology to see all course assignments and information. If you are prospective student or parent and would like to know more specifics about me or the courses I teach, please feel free to email me and I will be happy to give you more information.

As a Language Arts educator, I believe passionately in the social, emotional, and civic value of the humanities. I always do my best to create a welcoming classroom environment that encourages creativity, discussion, and engagement with challenging ideas. No matter what course I teach, I aim to help my students develop sophisticated reading, writing, and speaking abilities. I want them to leave my class inspired to read widely, write artfully, and talk meaningfully.  I want them to be thoughtful, engaged citizens and curious, critical thinkers. And I want, most of all, to help them discover joy in learning.

Courses I teach this academic year (2019/2020):
AP Language & Composition
CIS (College in the Schools) Literature
Honors Speech 10
Honors English 10: The American Dream
Honors English 10: The American Experience
English 11C: Media Literacy

Contact me if you would like to learn more about Mock Trial, Speech & Debate, or any of our many student clubs (such as Creative Writing Club, Discussion Club, Women's Empowerment Club, and the Multi-Cultural Student Union). While I am not the advisor of all of these clubs, I will be happy to give you the information you need and put you in touch with the advisors.
